Learn all about the latest programs and initiatives available to both small and medium sized businesses. Back to Work

Back to Work support payments of up to $20 000 are available for eligible employers who hire eligible unemployed jobseekers.

  • Employed full time or part time (casual employees are NOT Eligible)
  • The employee hired must have been out of work for at least eight weeks
  • Employees previously employed by the employers within the last 12 months are NOT Eligible
  • Applications must be lodged within 16 weeks of the employee start date

The Application Cap was reset on the 1 July 2021.

Small Business

Small Business grants are available to help your small business recover, grow and thrive.

  • Mentoring For Growth program provides mentoring panels and chats for Queensland businesses to address business challenges and capitalise on opportunities.
  • The Queensland Small Business Commissioner role is to advocate, enable and empower small business to improve productivity and help drive economic growth in Queensland. The Small Business Help and Support document has handpicked information, support, services and assistance for relevant small businesses.

Training

  • Training and Careers – Information for employers and individuals regarding Vocational Education and Training courses, pathways, subsidised training, initiatives, training providers and recognition of skills.
  • Priority Skills List identifies the qualifications and skill sets that attract a government subsidy under the Vocational Education and Training investment budget.
  • Queensland Skills Gateway to find training courses, the training provider and how a qualification is funded.
